Fun Facts
I love puzzles and board games and get really competitive about it! I'm also an artist practising digital photography and painting. I love taking photos of nature and pets and painting my thoughts and feelings in abstract art.
About Me
I'm neurodivergent and a visual, experiential learner so have used my strengths to find many different ways to translate complex concepts during my experience as a tutor. I have a PhD in Oceanography and Coastal Sciences so am an expert at all things math and science.
Experience
I started an after-school homework program when I was in high school that is still operating today. I first started tutoring back in 2014 when a graduate professor saw my love of learning and paired me with one of his students who was struggling. I have since tutored many students for almost a decade from the K to the graduate level.
Approach
I try to use real-world scenarios to explain difficult concepts incorporating images and figures. I also break things down step by step using different colours to make sure the links between them are evident and easy to follow. I am a very patient and encouraging tutor. I believe that everyone is capable of learning any subject, they just need to find the right learning approach. And I'm happy to discover that approach with you.
