About Me

I am currently at UCSD where I'm majoring in chemical engineering and minoring in marine science. My ultimate goal is to acquire a position in a clean energy company to help us move away from "dirty energy" and move towards "clean energy". With my minor I hope to become more knowledgeable in marine science to help with conservation.

As an involved student at my Moreno Valley Community College I tutored at the math lab for a year. My capabilities included all of the undergraduate math classes from basic algebra to linear algebra. Also, I was a supplemental instructor at the community college for 3.5 years for all of the general chemistry classes including AP. Supplemental instructors are like a TA but without the grading. Besides the college level I worked for after school programs, like STARS and Think Together, in Moreno Valley for 2.5 years. My first year was with STARS and I was in charge of the 5th graders. With STARS I started the Green Club (alt. energy and nutrition) and was also their football and basketball coach which included 4th and 3rd grade. My second and a half year was with Think Together where I ran a classroom of 26 2nd and 3rd graders. I made daily lesson plans that followed each grade's learning criteria. Lastly, I worked for Prime Time, an after school program through the YMCA-riverside">Riverside that provided tutoring for middle school students.

As they accomplish these feats they start to develop their own logical process or thinking strategies to approach certain types of problems or to understand a concept. Consequently, the students build their confidence and gain momentum in the material. Additionally, if for some r
