About Me

I am a graduate student (first year master) major in Bioengineering at University of California, San Diego, with GPA of 3.64. I gained my undergraduate degree in biomedical engineering and I have been on the Dean's List for 2 years. I am the core member in UCSD Bioengineering M.Eng Committee and I am active members in many student organizations. My future career goal is working in healthcare consulting field.

I worked for the Chinese language study program at Ling Sheng Ching Tze Temple (Chicago) as a chinese tutor from August 2011 to December 2011. During that period, I delivered instructions on language courses (level 3) to 30 students. I prepared homework, graded exams and monitored students’ performances in class. I liked to design some games for students to enhance their enthusiasm in learning language, and I love my experience of being a chinese language tutor. Furthermore, I was the chief leader in Chinese-German culture study program at Shanghai Jianping High school. I arranged language classes for both chinese and german students. While I was in Germany, I presented Chinese culture classes to German students.
I had great experience in teaching and it makes me feel happy and rewarding.

When I was in middle school I had a great math teacher, his humor and creative teaching approach led my passion and interest to the math field. From then I realized the importance of being a good teacher.
I love sharing my knowledge and ideas with people, and by helping my cousins with their coursework I found my potential of teaching. My successful experience as a Chinese tutor proved I am a good tutor. I think learning knowledge should be a fun process, so as a tutor I always like to design games to enhance students' enthusiasm in learning the subject. I think learning how to solve the problem is much more important than knowing the result . So I like to guide my students to explore the problem and I encourage diverse ideas and critical thoughts.
