Fun Facts

I am an assistant instructor at Than Phong where we teach taekwondo. I am currently a black belt third dan. i have taught classes of up to 50 students and trained competitor for tournaments. I am a very athletic person and play badminton, tennis, and ultimate frisbee.

About Me

I graduated from UC Davis in 2013 with a Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering and a minor in Biomedical Engineering. My overall GPA at Davis was 3.25 and my major GPA was 3.43. I am currently attending San Jose State University, pursuing a Master in Mechanical Engineering. My GPA at San Jose State Univeristy is 3.75. I plan on getting a job in the mechanical design field.

I do not have much tutoring experience. I tutored my friends through a few subjects during my time in UC Davis. I also tutor my cousin who is in elementary school. I help him with his homework and clarify any problem he has. At UC Davis, I was in the C-STEM club and I would go to elementary and middle school introducing the children to different field of engineering. I taught them how to move a modular robot using some simple coding.

I think a more hands on experience is the best way to learn something. Being guided through a problem and working problems out was the best way for me to learn as a child. I did not learn very well when all I did was sit still and listen to the teacher lecture us on the subject. I also think using analogy is one of the best way to help someone understand the concept.
