Fun Facts

I like hiking, indoor rock climbing, camping, backpacking, and running. My favorite place to camp and backpack is Yosemite National Park. I am originally from the New Orleans, Louisiana, and my family has experienced many Hurricanes in the past, especially Hurricane Katrina.

About Me

I just earned my M.S. in Meteorology and I am now a part-time lecturer at San Jose State, teaching Air Pollution.

I have much tutoring experience with math in high school, and I have experience tutoring meteorology and weather in college.

My tutoring approach for math and meteorology is to first see how the student would approach the question by asking them what they think they should do. I would then guide them to the right way of thinking before they do the problem. if they still do not understand how to proceed, then I slowly show them what to do, and I would explain why I did it. Also, if the concept is difficult, I try to break down hard-to-understand concepts in ways that would relate to them, so it is easier to understand.

Experience

I have tutored students math in high school and in college, and I have been with Frog Tutoring since 10/2014. Also, I have lots of experience dealing with many math and science problems because I was a mathlete in high school, and I have taken many physics courses throughout my high school and college career.

Approach

My tutor approach is to listen to the student, observe their current skills, and then tackle their struggles from there. I am very patient, and I do not mind going over fundamental concepts more than once. I am good at explaining difficult things in a very simple or simpler manner. I like seeing people understand math concepts, and trying to get them to realize that math is easier then they might think.
