About Me
Hi! I’m a passionate and patient tutor with experience in Math, Reading, ELA, ESL, and test prep (including HiSET). I’ve worked with students of all ages and abilities, including those with special needs. My approach is flexible, engaging, and tailored to each student’s learning style. I love helping students build confidence and reach their goals!
I have a BS. I have taught over 15 years in public schools and 7 years online tutoring. I have a NC teaching license and I am TEFL certified.
Experience
I am a NC retired high school math teacher, with over 15 years experience and 7 years experience as online tutor. I have tutored students from elementary to high school in Math, Reading, English, and ESL. I’ve supported learners with diverse needs, including non-verbal students, English language learners, and those preparing for standardized tests like the HiSET and GRE, also platforms VIPKid, Wyzant, and private sessions, focusing on personalized, goal-driven instruction.
Approach
I believe every student has the ability to succeed with the right support. My approach is centered on patience, positivity, and helping students develop both content knowledge and confidence. I don’t just focus on getting the right answer I guide students to understand the why and help them build study habits they can use in any subject. My goal is to create a safe, encouraging space where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and growing at their own pace.
