Fun Facts
Education is my reason to exist. I am highly passionate about helping others to reach a greater version of themself, and I believe that education should be designed to cultivate the full human person.
About Me
I graduated from La Salle University with a BA in Philosophy and Communication in 2017. After attending Teacher's College, Columbia University's graduate program for 1 year, I decided to go on a hiatus to spend time writing my self-published book, The Essence of Education, which was released in late 2021. After that, I've served as a Camp Director at Stamford Recreations, a Senior Program Manager at Working in Support of Education, and now I currently work as a Career Skills Mentor at Goodwill
Experience
I have spent 5+ years working with youth in various settings. I have travelled to different middle and high schools across the 5 boroughs of NYC, teaching students on metacognitive, study, and life skills. I also spent time overseeing a college prep program that was executed in 15 NYC high schools. I have served as a camp director at Stamford Recreation, and I currently run a driving program at Goodwill for youths experiencing barriers to employment, where I help them get their permits.
Approach
My approach is heavily based on the Socratic method, learning by doing, and student co-creation. I believe that education is an active and dynamic process that requires the freedom to explore, make mistakes, and discover solutions/new ways of perceiving our surrounding world. I am also a strong advocate of cultivating the full human person, which entails allowing them to develop all their various forms of intelligence.
