I love comic books, flip flops and tie dye. I attempt to play the guitar. I am self-taught, which means I'm not very good, but I enjoy it. I can impress people who know nothing about the guitar :)

About Me

I retired from the US Army in December 2009. I attended the University of North Carolina at Charlotte from 2011-2015. I graduated with majors in Sociology and Political Science, and a minor in Gerontology.

Experience

As a member of the US Army for 21 years, I was responsible for training and mentoring soldiers in both technical skills and leadership development. I designed and led instructional sessions focused on informational technologies and strategic problem-solving, ensuring soldiers were well-prepared for real-world challenges. My approach emphasised hands-on learning, adaptability, and individualised guidance, enabling soldiers to develop confidence and expertise.

Approach

My teaching approach is deeply influenced by my sixth-grade teacher, Mrs. Davis, whose warmth, patience, and ability to make every lesson engaging left a lasting impact on me. She fostered an environment where learning felt natural and exciting, always taking the time to ensure each student felt seen and capable. Inspired by her, I emphasise personalised instruction, ensuring that each learner’s strengths are nurtured while building confidence in challenging areas.
