About Me
I am an engineering consultant and have worked with multiple firms to improve system designs. I am full-time employed as a Mechanical Engineer with Ford Motor Company. I graduated from high school with a 4.3 GPA, 32 ACT, and credits for all college physics and early maths. I own a small business that I run mildly successfully, and I have had to learn accounting and other business skills via online courses. I am working on publishing my first peer-reviewed text and will apply to an MBA and JD program in the fall.
Experience
I am CRLA level 1 certified and tutor all mechanical engineering courses and many business/general ed courses at KU. I have thought ages 10 to 30 in engineering and science for 6 years.
Approach
I prefer to take an approach that involves benchmarking a student's skills by watching an attempt and finding the misunderstanding (or end of knowledge). From there, I may ask probing questions or give hints to try to stimulate what may have been learned in the classroom. If this fails, I will demonstrate and explain all steps (no shortcuts) and allow the student to take notes and try on their own, repeating the first step.
