About Me
I am a native of Chicago and now live in Baltimore. I have been a Human Resources Professional, Administrative Hearings Representative, Advocate, Writer, and Early Childhood Program Social Worker in my career. Yep, lots of variety in my career experience!
Experience
I have been teaching and facilitating instruction in my career path for years. I also teach study groups in my church. I cater my teaching to my audience. I adapt from one-on-one to large groups. I take time to listen and intuitively focus on the needs of the individuals that I am serving. Before graduating from college, I worked as a Tutor of elementary school students.
Approach
I am the daughter of a woman who raised 8 children and read to us or had us read to her at bedtime because she loved us and cherished education. After serving as a homemaker until we all entered school, she returned to school to complete her Bachelor's and went on to earn a Master's in education/maryland/baltimore">Special Education for elementary and secondary schools. Teaching was so natural to her; and her love for children included advocacy and philanthropy which are now my passions.

I am also a 20+ year paralegal and freelance writer since 2010. In both professions, I have utilized my English background and resulting skill set by drafting countless legal documents, authoring dozens of articles, and functioning as an editor and proofreader of documents.

Reading truly is fundamental and has been core to my educational background. It is foundational in the learning process--for any curriculum and course of study. Further, it impacts a person's trajectory in life. A person will be able to progress when what is read is understood. It can then be properly applied in life.
