About Me
I am an independent journalist and graduate student at the Philip Merrill College of Journalism at the maryland">University of Maryland, College Park. I have earned B.A. degrees in both English and Anthropology from the maryland">University of Maryland, Baltimore County.
As a Reading Intervention Teacher, I taught a required course for 9th graders who need extra support to learn on-grade-level reading skills. As a Literacy Intervention Tutor for K-3 students, I tutored in both phonics and reading comprehension.
Experience
While working with both elementary and high-school students, I supported many students' success in advancing from below-grade-level to above-grade-level reading sills throughout the course of a single school year.
I achieved these outcomes by
- enabling students to explore material beyond their current reading-level with scaffolding materials and one-on-one guidance.
- Providing every student with reading material tailored to their unique interests.

Approach
I am passionate about making learning fun by customizing content to suit individual students' interests, learning style, and goals. I love inspiring students who have struggled in a traditional academic setting or who have an inclination to question everything. I will push every student to become a better version of themself - a version who is more effective at achieving their own goals for their future and blazing their own, unique trail in life,
