During my first year at Rutgers, I was a member of Rutgers University’s South Asian Performing Arts dance team! I love expressing creativity through dance and performing at cultural events, and it was a great way to stay active, build teamwork, and celebrate my heritage.

About Me

Hi! My name is Akshara Anand, and I am studying biological sciences at Rutgers University. I am currently on the pre-optometry track. I have a GPA of 3.5. After completing my undergraduate studies, I plan on attending optometry school to obtain my OD degree. I specialize in tutoring Math, English, and SAT prep. I scored a 1570 on the SAT and have years of experience helping students boost their confidence and test scores.

Experience

During high school, I worked as a peer math tutor, providing academic support to fellow students in subjects ranging from Algebra to Pre-Calculus. This experience strengthened my ability to explain complex concepts clearly and fostered my passion for helping others succeed academically.

I believe in meeting students where they are and adapting my teaching style to fit their unique learning needs. I focus on building a strong conceptual foundation, encouraging questions, and breaking down complex topics into manageable steps.
