Fun Facts
I encourage my students to be their unique selves! One passion that people learn about me quickly is that I like to have fun, and try my best to incorporate having fun while tutoring my students. I'm charismatic, empathic, clever, and quick witted. I like to play video games that have reading involved in them, and I encourage my students to play video games such as Pokémon to help them refine their reading, and reasoning skills.
Fun fact about me is that I love the colors of Dart Frogs!
About Me
I'm an enthusiastic and hard-working tutor who will go above and beyond for my students!
I am currently working on my bachelor's degree at Chicago State University; My major is psychology, and my minor is CMAT. (Put on hold.)
Fun fact: Did you know that Chicago State University was originally taught out of a box car when it was first founded? CSU was also known as being the Chicago Teachers College. My grandfather earned his teaching certificate at CSU. He taught for CPS for 30 years.
Experience
I have experience working with students who have different flavors of Autism. The subjects that I tutor are Psychology, College Level American History, High School Level American History, English and Learning Differences. My favorite subjects to tutor are English, executive functioning, history, psychology, and social studies.
Approach
When I was growing up, I had issues with social cues, sitting still, learning the subjects that were being taught, doing and turning in my homework, and adapting to changes in my daily schedule. These issues were identified as mild High Functioning Autism (formerly known as Asperger's syndrome), and learning disabilities in English, along with Math (Algebra) when I was in third grade.
I am here to help by teaching you the coping skills that I have learned, and that are still being refined.

Basic Computer Skills Tutoring
CPTR 1060 UG Intro Persnl Cptr I I enjoyed taking this course during my first year at CSU. The instructor of this course is a fantastic gentleman who gave me an A for all of my hard work.
Crit Think Technology I did well when I took this course at CSU, and I passed this course with an A.
I've been using Microsoft Office since 2001. I'm proficient in using Word along with PowerPoint. I'm comfortable with explaining how to do things when building, and operating a computer.
Writing Tutoring
Writing in high school wasn't always easy for me due to my learning disability in English that I worked hard to create coping mechanisms for.
English 2006 to 2007, I got a B as my final grade.
English 2007 to 2008, I got a B as my final grade.
English 2008 to 2009, I got a B as my final grade.
English 2009 to 2010, I worked really hard to get my final grade to be an A.
Reading Comprehension Tutoring
During my freshman year of high school, I got a C in Critical Reading 1.
