I love music. I play the guitar, ukulele, and piano, and I sing. I also enjoy spending time in nature! I was a three-sport athlete in high school!

About Me

In May of 2022, I completed a BS in Elementary K-4 Education. I have traveled all over the world, living in 15 different places. Studied. I have interacted with people from different cultures throughout my life and worked hard to develop cultural humility. I was adopted from India as an infant. That experience, along with my family, has shaped me into a strong and empathetic woman who sees everybody for who they are. My unique experiences have also helped me to develop effective communication skills and have taught me to be adaptable and resilient and to confront change with an open mind. I live in Abington, Pennsylvania.

Experience

I will have had numerous experiences working with children in the classroom. As a college student, I observed in our campus’ preschool and both a kindergarten classroom and a 2nd grade classroom. This past fall, I was engaged in pre-student teaching, and this spring, I am fully immersed in student teaching in a 2nd grade classroom. Furthermore, throughout college, I have worked in after-school tutoring programs.

Approach

I am enthusiastic, encouraging, caring, and creative; my expectations are clear. When a student encounters an academic challenge, I celebrate their work first and then provide constructive feedback. Students’ work should be seen, heard and appreciated. When I encounter a disciplinary challenge, I not only use what I have learned in my education classes and student teaching, but I also think back to my early schooling years and use some of the strategies my teachers used to guide me.
