Fun Facts
I've been a lifeguard, a tutor, worked for the Sierra Club, and been a dog walker. I have 145 IQ points according to multiple intelligence tests, which puts me within the 99.9th percentile (or 1 in 1,000).
About Me
I attended San Francisco State University and graduated in 2011 with a 3.88 GPA. I am a recipient of the Frances Jaffer Poetry Prize. I've spent most of my career dedicated to software engineering and education. As an educator, I've taught middle school students, college students, and adult learners a wide variety of subjects, including computer programming, math, science, reading, robotics, and history.
Experience
I've tutored students one-on-one, as well as being an Assistant Instructor for a 6-month computer programming class, and working with middle school classes to teach STEAM skills. In addition, I've worked as a professional software engineer for 4 companies in the Bay Area, including medical manufacturing and social media companies.
Approach
Learning should be fun. I approach every lesson with patience and compassion for the learner, and I seek to unlock the inner curiosity that drives a student to succeed. Positive encouragement is key.
