Fun Facts

I have played the saxophone for over 15 years. I have a green thumb and love growing houseplants. I spend most weekends in either local thrift stores or antique shops.

About Me

I graduated from UNC Asheville in 2021 with a major in Chemistry, a minor in Neuroscience, and three academic publications. After graduation, I was a Lab Manager for a Neuroscience lab at Dartmouth College, but left to become a high school Math and Science educator.

Experience

During undergrad, I worked not only as a researcher but also as a lab assistant and a peer hall">tutor. While at Dartmouth College, I managed a Neuroscience lab where I collected and analyzed data, conducted experiments, and maintained inventory. During my time at Thetford Academy, I taught Chemistry, Algebra II, and a remedial math course known as Applied Mathematics. I was also the faculty sponsor for the school's gaming club.

Approach

My approach to teaching involves multiple methods tailored to the class learning strengths. I use lectures, group work, labs, and real-world examples to ensure each student understands the material. I also have the philosophy that students should see you as a person as well as an educator, so they do not feel intimidated to come to you with educational or personal problems.
