Fun Facts
I love regenerative agriculture! I have worked for two years on various vegetable farms.
I'm from the Bay Area, but have lived in Boston, rural Illinois, and now Portland.
About Me
I graduated in 2022 with a BA in International Affairs and Environmental Studies and a Spanish minor. While most of my work experience has been in the environmental and agricultural field, I love math and helping others grow their academic skills and confidence.
Experience
For three years, I worked at an after-school and summer math tutoring program. This involved constructing and implementing lesson plans for Algebra and Geometry, and helping with homework and study strategies. For one semester, I worked as an SAT Verbal/English section coach for juniors in high school. Additionally, I received a 5 on the AP Calculus exam in high school, and while in college, I relearned Calculus to help tutor my friend.
Approach
My approach is example and question-driven; I like to act as a guide for my students navigating their learning. I try to not just show students how to get to the right answers, but help them learn how they can help themselves. When addressing difficult problems or exercises, I like to start by finding what resources we have, such as notes, online videos, etc. I am patient and have unwavering faith in my students' abilities to learn and grow.
