Fun Facts
In my spare time, I create art and perform with fire. In high school, I led a group of scouts on a 100-mile canoeing and portaging trip through Canada. I love science– I have built two Tesla coils. My interest in theater led me to perform in professional theater productions during grades 3-12. My interpersonal skills help me to adapt to any environment.
About Me
I am the child of a teacher, and I always thought I would be in a teaching role. I graduated in 2020 from the Maryland Institute College of Art, with a degree in Interactive Art– studying how people interact with and experience the world around them! I love helping people discover new things about themselves and the world around them, and one day hope to curate large-scale interactive art installations.
Experience
In middle school, I was an assistant teacher for pre-K dance classes and a substitute tutor for Horton's Kids. Throughout high school, I frequently helped my friends with their math homework and started weekly Physics tutoring sessions for a friend of mine. I also started teaching private and group swim lessons during my summer job lifeguard and managing swimming pools.
Approach
I am an experienced leader who excels at drawing connections between lesson content and real-world experiences. I believe every kid deserves to learn in a safe and fun environment and to be given the tools that will help them grow. I understand that everyone learns in different ways and can adapt to the learning needs of different children. As a tutor, I will promote a growth mindset so that setbacks only lead to added motivation.
