Fun Facts

One of my hobbies is writing poetry. In fact, I am published in the Stars in Our Heart, 2012 publication. Allow me to share one of my poems with you.

Simply Inedible

A ray of sunshine sparkles through the window pane
Seemingly to highlight the painstakingly mundane
It shakes and shimmies as it spies its target
A virtual meat market.

Hour glass figures, some made of plastic
Practice for an encore performance
They take their seats next to the finest cuts
Of meat.
What a sweet retreat!

About Me

I am a graduating senior from the Florida Memorial School of Education with a MS in Reading/ESOL. I also hold a Temporary Statement of Eligibility in Exceptional Student Education. I have had a life long affinity and aptitude for reading. I am currently a freelance writer for examiner.com, which is an on-line newspaper. Typically, I write reviews on local community events.

I have experience miami">tutoring for an SES miami">tutoring company, Spirit of Learning Academy, Inc. For the most part, I tutored middle school students in Math and reading-comprehension/florida/miami">Reading Comprehension strategies. Currently, I miami">tutor for Huntington Learning Center. Working for Frogtutoring provides me with yet another opportunity to share my knowledge and help students reach their full potential.

I firmly believe that all students are capable of learning, given a pace and strategies that are tailored made for them. I am a proponent of direct instruction and individualized instruction, where the students are active learners and construct their own meaning from their academic encounters. With the combination of a caring and knowledgeable guide, and commitment from the student, goals can be accomplished.

Experience

I have at least five years of experience miami">tutoring students in the Miami-Dade County Public School System. Currently, I also miami">tutor for Huntington Learning Center.
