My latest interest is in Olympic Weightlifting. The two lifts are called the snatch and clean&jerk. They both require a lot of strength, speed, flexibility and coordination and is probably the hardest exercise I've tried.

About Me

I spent roughly half my life in Korea and the other half in the United States. My family moved to the US when I was 2 and we moved back to Korea when I was 15. Consequently I went to elementary school and middle school in Trumbull, CT and attended high school and college in Seoul, Korea. I can speak, read and write fluent Korean and English. During college, I double majored in political science and accounting, aspiring to work internationally in a diplomatic and financial role. After graduation I moved to the Bay Area, passed the US CPA exam and worked for the public accounting firm Ernst & Young, LLP, for several years. During this time, I realized I didn't wish to dedicate my life to finance and made the big decision to return to school and become a doctor. I had always wanted to become a doctor due to a sick childhood, but the challenges and pressures I encountered when I moved to Korea dissuaded me from pursuing that path during college. For the past few years I have been studying my medical school prerequisites at San Francisco State University and am planning to apply to medical school next year.

I have a lot of experience tutoring middle and high school students in math and science during my college years in Korea. Due to being bilingual I've also worked full time during college teaching English to Korean students in private institutions. Currently I am volunteering at monroe">Monroe Elementary tutoring students who are below their grade's reading level, helping them catch up.

I find this approach especially advantageous in the math and sciences. Through repetition and practice the student loses a lot of the fear or anxiety they have regarding the subject. As they say familiarity breeds contempt, but in this case understanding is bred through familiarity and repetition. This leads to a calmer
