Fun Facts
One of my passions is music. I played the flute all throughout middle school and high school and even performed in Carngie Hall, NY. I still keep my love of music going by being in the marching band. I am the only girl out of three brothers, and I have lived in North Carolina all my life.
About Me
I am a sophomore studying Elementary Education at North Carolina State University with a concentration in STEM and a minor in Business Administration. In two and a half years the plan is to become an Elementary School teacher.
Experience
In high school I had the privilege to be apart of PEPI, which allowed me to go daily to elementary school and work with children. At State I have been a mentor in READ to L.E.A.D working, reading and playing with children from the Boys and Girl club. I babysit families every so often, and help my younger brothers with their homework. Working for Frog Tutoring gives me the chance to work and help improve more students study habits, grades and attitudes about education!
Approach
When I was in elementary school I struggled, and often just gave up. If I had had a tutor to help mentor me through I would have been able to develop the right study skills sooner. The right teacher and/ or tutor can be the difference between a child loving or hating education. I have discovered that taking the approach of first talking them through step by step to ensure they know the material first is the best way to keep the child from feeling over whelmed.

Elementary Education
Algebra Tutoring
I took pre-algebra in middle school and took algebra 1 and 2 in high school. I received a B in middle school, but my understanding of the mathematical concepts has greatly improved since that time. I tutored my younger brother in the past for many of his math classes.
Biology Tutoring
I took Biology in middle school and received passing grades. In high school and college I took higher levels of biology as well.
English Tutoring
My knowledge in English has continued to include college level material. From middle school and alway the way through college I have received high grades in English.

Analyzing and discussing literature happens to be my favorite apart of English. Reading comprehension becomes simple once children understand the steps, which can easily be taught.

I took science classes all through middle school, high school and currently every semester of college. I received passing marks in all of my classes, and have helped other students with studying science in the past.

As a future elementary school teacher, I have already taken two college devoted to how to teach math successfully to children. I have helped tutor my younger brother for math over the years, and I have helped guide young children enhance their love of math.
Social Studies Tutoring
With younger children I find, that once they discover that learning can be fun it is not considered a chore anymore. My approach to tutoring elementary school children with history is to find interesting concepts about the historical figures they learn about and relate it about to the lesson plan.
Writing Tutoring
In elementary school children need someone to guide them through the process of writing. I will be that helping hand to your child.
History Tutoring
History is a subject that often requires a lot of memorization of dates and old historical peoples names. So to keep the interest of the students, you have to incorporate knowledge that is helpful, on tract for the curriculum but also incorporates the subjects children love.
