Fun Facts

Two of my biggest passions are cooking and reading! My favorite thing about reading is how it can transport you to another time and place, my favorite book is either 1984 by George Orwell or the Harry Potter series. I also love making all sorts of delicious treats, such as cookies and pies. I am the oldest of four children. My little sisters are nine years younger than me and I love taking care of them and being a big sister. I love trying new things! Right now I am learning to salsa dance.

About Me

I am a freshman English major at Santa Clara University, but I am thinking about double majoring in English and Psychology. Although I am still figuring out what I want to do after college, I think I want to go to UVA for law school like my dad did or work in a publishing company. I love working with kids and I strive to create a close relationship with them. I am invested in my students and always work to ensure that they learn and develop their skills.

Experience

In high school I would volunteer at the elementary school. I would work with 1st and 2nd grade classes as an assistant to the teacher one day a week. I would also help out with tutoring some of the kids who needed it. Now in California I volunteer to tutor elementary school children at L.U.C.H.A school once a week. Working for Frog Tutoring will give me the opportunity to do something I love doing, which is to work with and help kids.

Approach

As a kid I have always had a love of learning. Though initially I struggle with learning how to read, I was able to get some help from an amazing tutor who was so excited about what she was teaching me that her attitude was contagious and now have a passion for books. As a tutor, I hope to help and inspire other children. I know it can be frustrating when you do not understand something, I help my students be able to look at problems and different ways and work towards understanding the subject.
