As a biologist, I love being outside! California is such a beautiful place to hike, kayak and explore! I also enjoy visiting wildlife such as the elephant seals at Ano Nuevo, or the blue whales off the coast.

About Me

I am currently in the Single-Subject Credential Program at San Jose State University. Hopefully in May, I will be a fully credentialed biology teacher! I love science and teaching anyone who will listen about our natural world! I also completed my undergrad at San Jose State University with a degree in biology and graduated Summa Cum Laude.

My first experience with tutoring occurred when I was a senior in high school. I started my own tutoring business and ended up consistently tutoring 6 elementary school students for the whole year. Since then, my passion for tutoring and teaching has grown to the point that I want to make it a career! I have worked with children of all different ages and needs in many different settings throughout the years, and this gives me a great background knowledge for tutoring.

When it comes to my tutoring approach, my goal is to really focus on differentiating the lesson for each student. Every student is different, and thus learns differently. My goal is to figure out what learning modality the student prefers and incorporate that into the tutoring session. My other approach is being very patient with students. Many concepts take time and persistence to learn, so it is important that the student never feels rushed or frustrated that they cannot learn the concept quickly enough. Overall, I really would like to capitalize on the strengths of the students, and help them through their problems as much as possible.
