Fun Facts
A couple of interesting facts people quickly learn about me is that I am trilingual (Spanish, French, and English), I enjoy both making and listening to music, and I was born in Chile.
I moved to Miami at the age of four, so all of my academic studies were done here.
As a proud chilean, I LOVE sports; especially soccer.
In fact, I used to play soccer during my childhood. Unfortunately, around 6th grade, I was injured and turned my attention more towards watching sports than playing them.
About Me
I am currently in my third year at Florida International University, pursuing my Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology under a pre-medicine track. However, due to my vast amount of AP and IB credits from high school, I am registered as a senior. I have been on the Dean's List since my first semester at FIU.
Eventually, having had completed my undergraduate studies here at FlU, I hope to attend medical school.
My ultimate career goal is to become a surgeon.
Experience
During all four years of high school, I was a member of the Math, Science, French, and Spanish Honor Societies. They provided free tutoring services, in which I tutored my peers in whichever subject they needed help in.
Additionally, during my last three years of high school, I tutored elementary and middle school students in mathematics privately.
As a person who enjoys helping others, I turned to Frog Tutoring as they allowed me to continue tutoring students while pursuing a college degree.
Approach
As an honors student having attended only magnet schools, I’ve always been told to aim towards understanding concepts instead of just memorizing facts. Hence, I encourage the same in the students that I tutor.
I believe school becomes easier if you add-on to knowledge you previously learned, rather than attempt to store information you do not know how to use.
Meaning that instead of just giving students the answer to a problem, I would break the problem down and explain it to them step-by-step.

I took Anatomy and Physiology I my senior year and passed with all As.
I am highly interested in the subject, as I would like to be a surgeon.
My teacher in high school was very knowledgable and made this class very fun. I intend to do the same.

Additionally, I took and passed General Biology 1 and 2 (BSC 1010/1011) and their corresponding labs at FlU.
French Tutoring
I learned french at the same time I learned english. My native language is spanish.
My parents enrolled me in a language magnet elementary, middle, and high school.
I took all levels of french and excelled at them.
In 8th grade I took AP French and passed.
I took IB French and excelled in my classes. However, I was unable to take the exam since I had to move and unfortunately switched schools.

However, my parents worked long hours and I was put in after-school care.
There they taught me various valuable lessons about time-management and how to stay focus during homework completion.
