About Me
I recently graduated this past June from UCLA as a Microbiology, Immunology, and Molecular Genetics major. I am currently studying for the MCAT and volunteering at a hospital to apply for medical school next year. My ultimate goal is to become an Emergency Medicine physician.
Experience
I have extensive tutoring experience dating back to high school when tutoring local middle school and elementary students in math and science. In college, I was a member of the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) program and tutored students in college level biology, math, and writing. Teaching is a passion of mine and becoming apart of Frog Tutoring would allow me to reach more students.
Approach
As a student, I have found consistent repetition to be a key in learning and absorbing the material. Personally, I need to be exposed to concepts and class material through many different angles including visually ( elaborate concepts maps, illustrations, pictures), through writing ( bullet point notes), and through discussing. As a tutor, I believe it is important to introduce various presentations of concepts and materials learned for better understanding.

Biochemistry Tutoring
I took biochemistry my first year at UCLA and received a B grade. I have currently studied biochemistry extensively for my MCAT and have gained a much greater understanding of the material and have taught many of my peers, who are also studying for the mcat. As a previous student, I am well aware of common difficulties and challenges that come with the subject and as a tutor will help students avoid these difficulties and learn the concepts more efficiently.
Biology Advance Tutoring
I have received a bachelors degree from UCLA in Microbiology, Immunology, and Molecular genetics, which involved taking 2 semesters of college level Biology in which I received an A grade and a plethora of upper division classes involving biological concepts such as immunology, genetics, microbiology etc Currently, I am studying biology extensively for the MCAT. As a tutor, I will work with students to understand major concepts and also focus on important details.
Math Tutoring
I have taken extensive college level math courses including statistics, precalculus, single variable calculus, and multivariable calculus all of which receiving an A grade.I have utilized and applied these concepts in other college levels classes such as calculus-based physics classes. As a student, I have realized that practice makes perfect when it comes to math. As a tutor, I will work with students to practice and develop problem-solving skills.
Elementary Math Tutoring
I have tutored many students that attend elementary schools focusing on math and science subjects. I attended a magnet school in the U.S that primarily focused on math and science learning and I excelled there. As a tutor, I focus on instilling a strong foundation of concepts that is essential for success in higher grade level math classes. I have found that using visual aids, puzzles, and games have work great in enforcing the material, while still making it enjoyable for kids at this age level.
