Fun Facts

I'm a world traveler, I sing in an acapella group, and I run both Cross Country and Track competitively. I love to do origami, which is the ancient art of Japanese Paper Folding. I'm a very outdoorsy person, as I have been involved in Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts since I was five years old.

About Me

I will be a senior at the University of Puget Sound in the fall. I love math and chemistry and I am doing research in chemistry this summer. I am a certified EMT and maybe hope to go into emergency care.

I have tutored fairly consistently for the last 3 years. I have tutored math from algebra/washington/tacoma">pre algebra to calculus as well as chemistry and physics and will have a spanish student starting soon. My students have been between ages 13 and 18, with even a little bit of peer washington/washington/tacoma">tacoma">tutoring(mostly unofficial) in college.

I like to use an approach of using leading questions to make the student figure out or understand what he/she is learning. I know of many different ways to approach the subject material and I can present it from multiple angles. If that strategy does not fit the student, I am comfortable explaining the problem and giving simpler examples. I like to build from the basics and let the student get more comfortable and confident with his/her own abilities.
