Yes I am a teacher but also I am a writer. I love to write about anything, especially memoirs and short stories. Whenever I get a chance I write, the funny thing is that almost every situation that I encounter I could turn it into a story about.

About Me

I am a teacher with more than 15 years of experience, so I think I could say now that I am a senior, but the word sounds so serious that I´d rather say that I have been teaching for a while now. Hunter College is my alma mater, I graduated there with a BA in Liberal Arts, Majoring in Spanish. My ultimate goal is to open up my own Language school for children.

Experience

I had my own language school in the Dominican Republic, later I moved to US and began teaching in the Bronx ESL. For four years I taught English as a Second Language, then I took a break of two years to be a mom. Once a teacher you always want to teach, so I returned to the field two years later, now I got a job in New York City as a Spanish teacher. I got my certification 7- 12 and taught for 8 more years. Today I have a Master Degree in Early Education and education/new-jersey/jersey-city">Special Education.

Approach

It was not until college that I met a professor who trained me to teach the way I think we all learn, observation and repetition, using project- based learning. Day after day I would go to her class eager to learn new Italian words playing with dolls or creating games. It was really fun. I would like to use a simple approach but pretty efficient to help my students learn the language.
