Fun Facts

I ride motorcycles and have a passion for motorcycle design. I am studying Mechanical Engineering so that I may one day have my own custom motorcycle shop. My hobbies include: dancing, singing, playing guitar, rock climbing, swimming, and adrenaline rushes. Also, I have a pet Mini-Rex rabbit.

About Me

Growing up, I was home schooled and graduated high school at age 14. At that time, I started college at Coffeyville Community College and was elected president of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society, as well as, Valedictorian of my graduating class. From there, I attended Texas A&M University where I was elected president of the Society of Physics Students and graduated Magna Cum Laude. I am now beginning graduate school in Mechanical Engineering at UNC Charlotte. My goal is to graduate with a degree in which I can pursue a career in motorcycle design. I am motivated, determined, and strive for excellence!

I have tutored students and classmates of all ages throughout my time in college. Subjects in which I have tutored include: Elementary Mathematics, Algebra I, Algebra II, College Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus, History, High School English, English Composition I, High School Physics, High School General Science, and Biology. For the past year, I have been a home school teacher for a family in San Diego, CA. During this time, I was the sole instructor of a young girl in 8th grade and a young boy in 9th grade. I push my students to be self-motivated and encourage a love for learning. I enjoy helping others succeed.

I strive to make the material fun for students to learn. Each individual student has a different and unique learning style. My goal as a tutor is to identify that learning style and teach the material in a way that is easy for the student to learn and grasp the concepts. I also understand the importance for a student to be self-sufficient. A student cannot always be given the answer to a problem, but instead must be taught how to find the answer on his or her own. As a tutor, I adjust my teaching style to the learning style of each individual student.
