About Me

I recently graduated from Central washington-university">Washington University with a degree in Food Science in Nutrition with a specialization in Dietetics and a minor in Anthropology. I adore living in the Pacific Northwest and enjoy hiking, biking, swimming,camping, and gardening. When indoors I love reading a wide variety of literature and trying out new recipes in the kitchen. No matter where I am, learning is one of my very favorite activities.

I have three younger siblings who will be entering 3rd, 4th and 7th grades. I have worked with them in multiple subjects since they started school. Also, throughout my college career I organized a number of study groups in order to better understand my own course material while helping my fellow students as well. Those experiences provided a valuable opportunity for me to develop communication skills, especially in the realm of teaching and washington/washington/tacoma">tacoma">tutoring.

My approach to washington/washington/tacoma">tacoma">tutoring is based on developing a complete understanding of concepts. I believe that knowledge sticks when a person can not only name an idea, but also use it in practical applications and describe it to someone else. At all levels of learning and in all subjects, individuals need to feel confident and supported while they implement new concepts and develop critical thinking skills.
