Fun Facts

As you might expect from someone with a degree in Literature, I love reading. My favorite authors are Dostoyevsky, Oscar Wilde, and Shakespeare. I also enjoy slightly more active hobbies such as photography and playing the flute and Irish whistle.

About Me

I graduated from University of California, Merced in August 2013 with a BA in English Literature and Cultures. I moved to Sacramento in September, where my boyfriend is working on getting his Master's Degree in Music Composition. I hope to eventually go into teaching, library science, or non-profit work.

I have mainly tutored my younger brother, who has Asperger's Syndrome. I have helped him develop study habits as well as help him with homework and essays. I also have helped many of my classmates edit and proofread their essays, as well as help them to make new connections in their reading material.

For me, the most important aspects of sacramento">tutoring are positive reinforcement and compassion. I aim to truly understand the student's needs and goals. I also find it important to not just give the student the answers, but help guide them to a solution. Imparting study skills and organization are also, of course, critical to future success.
