I was born in New York and raised in Japan. I have lived half of my life in Japan and the other half here in the U.S.

About Me

My name is Aki and I graduated from Sac State with a Art major. Drawing is where my passion is but I also enjoy learning about different cultures and languages. I can speak English, Japanese, and a little bit of Spanish. I like trying out exotic foods and discovering which types of foods I enjoy eating. Because I love to eat, I also try to stay active by going to the gym at least every other day. I am also a very social person. I like meeting new people and getting to know them. Children are of course always fun to be friends with. I have always enjoyed baby-sitting and interact with children.

I have been a Japanese sacramento">tutor at Sac State. I was a sacramento">tutor/teacher's aid who graded students' exams and answered their questions. I also voluntarily helped out the students during my breaks at the sacramento">tutoring center. I mainly explained gammer questions and help them prepare for their exams/quizzes.

I try to create an environment where students are comfortable enough to ask me any kinds of questions. I tell students that there is no stupid questions and they are more than welcome to ask questions at anytime. I also encourage them to keep asking questions until understand it. sacramento">Tutors are meant to help students, not to intimidate or stress them out. Every person has the ability learn and that is why sacramento">tutors are there to enhance that ability and hopefully make them feel more confident at the end.
