My passion is to help kids achieve academic goals so they can pursue their dreams. I love to travel and learn about other cultures. One of my dreams is to live in another country some day. I like to make jewelry as a hobby. Most importantly, I love to laugh and help children learn at the same time.

About Me

I am an ESL High School Teacher and have been 2012. Prior to obtaining my Masters in TESOL, I was a Secoal Ed. Paraprofessional. I have been Teaching/Assisting kids for 6 years to help them achieve academic goals and miletones in Math, Science, Social Studies, Language Arts and ESL. I received the G.E.M. (Great Educator Mentor) Award for 2010-2011 school year. I am also a licensed Realtor. I received my license in 1999. I really enjoy assisting buyers and sellers make their dreams come true!

My columbus">tutoring experience has been with ESL students. I tutored one-on-one with a Japanese second grader. I focused on basic Engligh language skills, spelling and reading-comprehension/ohio/columbus">reading comprehension with this student. I have experience with being a Homework Assistant at the Columbus Bilingual Academy.

As a student, I have struggled with reading-comprehension/ohio/columbus">reading comprehension and math. I wish I could have had a mentor to help me. It is my desire to come alongside students to mentor and help them be successful academically so that they build confidence and develop a desire to learn. I believe if every child has someone who believes in their abilities, they can become even better students. My approach to helping and mentoring students is that I set them up for success in class and in life. I want to be someone that pushes them a little past where they should be academically so they can grow in confidence and do well in school. I also think every student is unique and gifted in different ways and it is important to find those giftings and utilize it to their advantage. Each student has the abilitiy to do what is required in school and I am here to help and assist them where they need encouragement and strength.
