Fun Facts
In my spare time I enjoy getting fresh air, exercising, and eating yummy food. I am very health oriented person and love to use my extra time to invest in my own health the best I can. Some days this means going to the gym, cooking something new, or spending time with the people I love to ease my mind. I often reflect on the motto that "Health is Wealth."
About Me
I am Rayanna Laux a graduate from Humboldt State University. I graduated with a Bachelor's of Science in Biology with and emphasis on Cellular and Molecular Biology along with a minor in Psychology. I am currently living in the Sacramento area and working as a lab technician for a blood bank. I currently am taking a few college classes in nutrition and intend to apply for graduate schools in nutrition.
Experience
During college I tutored students in both biology and genetics through the tutoring center on my campus. I had the opportunity to work in one-on-one and group tutoring sessions. I really enjoyed this experience and working with students who were at different levels.
Approach
When I worked with students I often found that the material was not always the factor that was keeping them back from their goals. I would often discuss with my students their study habits, schedule, and approach to the material as a way to help them study more effectively outside of tutoring sessions. I found it important to also encourage them and gently correct mistake so that they could build the confidence they needed for their classes.
