Fun Facts

Drawing is my greatest passion in life, and my dream is to one day illustrate and publish my own children's book. I'm an only child, but I made a lot of close friends during my childhood moving between Mexico and the Bay Area. When I'm not at my desk drawing, I'm usually kicking back and playing video games with my friends, it's a good social outlet with the right equipment.

About Me

I'm a second-year Art major at Skyline college, and I made the Dean's list last semester, I am currently on my way to transferring to SFSU! My goal is to become a high school art teacher, since I found myself growing close to teachers who nurtured my creative spirit.

Experience

During my time in High School, I would help out my classmates my spending my free time tutoring them in Geometry, English, Biology, Spanish and Art. I soon found myself filling in for the Geometry teacher when she was unable to make it to class, using my patience to help struggling students understand the course material. While I have only tutored high school students, I feel as though my understanding approach can help teach younger kids how to break down the subjects they have difficulty with

Approach

As a child, I was always hailed as "smart, but a troublemaker." as my ADD made it increasingly hard to pay attention in class. I'd finish my classwork really early, and spend the rest of the class drawing, to my teachers dismay. Teachers would take my sketchbook and throw it in the bin- but that didn't stop me.
As a tutor, I wanna be nurturing to the creativity of children while also encouraging them to be able to put some focus into their work. Focus on academics, but don't control their dreams
