I am a college student in my junior year majoring in accounting. I am also a dancing instructor for Latin rhythms, such as merengue, salsa, bachata, and cumbia. I love to do community service on weekends and teach bible lessons in my spare time.

About Me

I am currently attending Rutgers University in Newark for the fall 2013 semester. I transferred from Passaic County Community College (PCCC) with an Associates Degree in accounting. At the time I graduated PCCC, I earned a 3.51 GPA overall. I plan to graduate by December 2014 with a Bachelors Degree in accounting and then enroll in the graduate program to obtain a MACCY in Financial Accounting. Therefore, after finishing my master's degree, I plan to obtain a CPA and eventually work for an accounting firm.

I have taught people how to understand the bible for 10 years. Teaching people to understand principles and concepts that would improve their quality of life and would benefit them in the long run gives me no greater joy. I believe that a tutor provides expertise, experience, and encouragement to the student. In my years teaching, I have learn that simplifying explanations to the students understanding capacity is the best way for a student to learn and understand the material. Therefore, I believe that my tutoring experience has given me a solid foundation on how to motivate the student to learn and understand concepts clearly.

My tutoring approach is to provide assistance to the student to understand a particular subject. A tutor is not there to simply give answers. The purpose of the tutor is to assist in problem solving skills in order to obtain an answer. Simply giving answer is not teaching the student how to understand the material nor how to do it. My main focused is to unconfused the student, specially in mathematical problems. I first explain thoroughly the material and build on what the student already knows. I should help the student compare concepts with other concepts, distinguish concepts from other concepts, connect the material to them, and apply concepts learned to new problems. Every student is different, for that reason, I will adapt to each students learning abilities.
