Fun Facts
While I major in English, I have a huge passion for music! As a songwriter and artist, I have had experience in the music industry in Nashville, NYC, and Los Angeles. My songs are featured in catalogs in Los Angeles and Nashville, and I have performed all around the country, including places like the Ryman Auditorium, The Bluebird Cafe, and even the White House! As a member of the Melodores a cappella group at Vanderbilt, I have travelled the world to sing and perform.
About Me
I am a senior English major at Vanderbilt University, with minors in Sociology and French. I am currently completing my creative writing thesis, which includes pieces that have won various awards and have been published in multiple writing journals across the country. With a 4.0 GPA in my English studies, I have excelled in a number of spheres, including essay writing, short stories, poetry, screenwriting/playwriting, and hybrid-genre work.
Experience
While I have provided informal English tutoring to various people at Vanderbilt, my main experience with students has been through music. As a member of the Melodores a cappella group at Vanderbilt, I have had the opportunity to hold workshops with students both around the country and the world! In Nashville, I have done classes with students at Eakin Elementary school, bringing a creative and energetic approach to our activities.
Approach
The power of writing cannot be understated, and as an English student pursuing a career in the music industry, I have found that simply being a good writer can provide endless opportunities. I pride myself on my creativity and ability to find outside-the-box solutions to any issue, and I believe that my approach to writing comes from a grounded, practical basis. Anyone can be a great writer - it just takes the proper guidance and engaging attitude to do so!

Reading Comprehension Tutoring
As demonstrated below, I have not received a grade below an A in any English class I have taken in college. I believe that my attention to detail, hard work, and scope of study would make me a fantastic English tutor! As an English major, I have often been required to read around 500 pages a week for my various classes. While this workload might be daunting to some, I see it more as a challenge. Absorbing information is one of the key skills for an English student, and I believe I am well-situated to aid someone in their studies!
