Fun Facts
I am what people like to call a "workaholic." I love to work but I don't call it work! Teaching, babysitting, driving the beverage cart at the golf course it's all fun to me! I love to make whatever I am doing interesting and fun! I love to scrapbook and create DIY projects in my spare time!
About Me
I just recently graduated from Eastern Michigan University. I have a major in Elementary Education, Liberal Arts with minors in Math and Reading. Teaching is my true passion, I have yet to find something that I love more. I have yet to pick a favorite grade level. I have direct experiences with grades 2-5.
As I member of the National Junior Honor Society I had the opportunity to mentor a kindergarten student while in 8th grade. This landed me an afterschool job with Jackman Road Elementary School participating in a program called SOS detroit">tutoring. I did this Freshman thru Senior year in high school. I tutored students in Reading and Math. This led to me getting my bachelors at EMU in education. I continued to volunteer in the classroom and pursue my dreams. I hope to have the opportunity to help your student strive for success.
While detroit">tutoring I strive to allow the student to achieve their success in whichever way works best for them. I will work with a student showing as many different examples and ways of working through a problem as I can think of until they understand. I like to bring real life situations that they have a connection to into learning in order for it to pertain to them. I believe in letting a student find the answer instead of giving everything away. When they are given the proper tools to find a solution and they reach it on their own it will be that much more valuable to them!
