Fun Facts

I have been a professional archaeologist for several years! I have worked all over the US and even in the Middle East (Israel). All though my Track and Field career was short lived I still enjoy a wide verity of sports including: Track, Basketball, Golf, and Football (I am a self-proclaimed Fantasy Football expert). When I am not digging around the world or watching sports I love to play board games. There is not much that can beat playing a good board game with some great friends.

About Me

I graduated from the washington">University of Washington (Go Dawgs!) in 2008 with a degree in Anthropology with an emphasis in Archaeology. While there, I was named to the Dean’s List five separate times. For the past few years I have worked as an Archaeologist and a teacher. I am going back to school this coming year to start on a Master’s degree with the hopes of continuing on to a PhD in Near Eastern Studies afterwards.

During by time at the washington">University of Washington I was given the opportunity to teach some lab classes. Teaching these labs gave me the honor of working directly with fellow students and allowed me to help tutor them in various subjects. Since graduating I have worked for several Utah school districts as a substitute teacher. Being a substitute teacher has allowed me to teach and tutor a wide verity of students (from 1st graders all the way through High School Seniors) in a wide verity of subjects. Working with Frog Tutoring gives me the great pleasure of having a positive impact in the academic lives of many more students!

Each student is unique; as such students do not learn in the same ways. I have found this true both as student and as teacher. My approach to tutoring will be as individual as the students I encounter. Some students are visual learners, for them drawing a pictorial representation of the concept might work best; other students are linear learners, for them turning a concept into a flow chart might work best. Whatever the student, I will work to find something that speaks to them and says, “Yes, I can do this!” One thing that will be constant in my teaching is the use of real world personal examples. I have been to a wide verity of places and have had a plethora of unique and exciting experiences all of which can be used to help answer the age old question, “When will I ever use this stuff?”
