Fun Facts

One thing that people learn about me is that I absolutely love math and helping others understand it. Math is one of those subjects that many despise, but I've grown to love math over the years. I am the oldest of sibling of three and I am a first generation college student. I love to shop, hangout with friends, and go to the gym. One of my favorite places to go is the beach; I love the beach because it's so peaceful.

About Me

I am a first year college student majoring in Mathematics with an education track at Florida International University. I have qualified to be a part of the honor society for college students, and I will be graduating in the spring of 2022. When I graduate I plan to be a Middle/ high school Math teacher. My main goal is to help educate and guide students in high need areas. During my free time I plan to volunteer and teach classes for those trying to get their GED.

Experience

As a member of imentor, I had the opportunity to go into classrooms and help assist and tutor students in the subject of math. I've also had the opportunity to go into classrooms and teach math lessons to students through the FIU Teach program. In high school I have taken and excelled in all math courses including International baccalaureate courses as well. Working for Frog tutoring will give me an opportunity to use my experiences and knowledge to further make an impact and change lives.

Approach

Growing up I wasn't always the best at math or learning in general. I struggled so much when It came to standardized testing and learning and often became discouraged as I got older. One teacher changed my perspective about learning and helped me get to where I am today. I now have a drive to do my best and study hard so I could succeed. I then realized my full potential and it started to show in my test scores and I began to love math once I mastered it.
