Gretchen Guertin has a very good knowledge of the content she teaches. She is able to customize her presentation of that knowledge in a manner that is best for her student. She does an excellent job of getting to know a student and adapting to their style of learning. Gretchen Guertin teaches lessons that are very applicable to the student's experiences and specific needs. Gretchen listened to my requests towards the direction I wanted my tutoring to go. She is very flexible and works school assignments into planned lessons making the tutoring even more useful. The lessons are very specific to me making them easier to understand and helping me intake as much information as possible. Gretchen takes time to get to know her students and cleverly customizes assignments to relate to my life. Gretchen is able to incorporate many areas of a subject and intertwine them in a way that connects a lesson to necessary skillls for the future. In a very short time span I have learned an incredible amount from this teacher not only in English but in test taking and study skills as well as ways to improve my learning experience with other teachers in school. Gretchen clearly has great experience in teaching and has knowledge on more than just the specific subject that is being tutored. I am very happy with my tutoring experience so far. I was hesitant to start tutoring as I was not sure I would be able to work well with my assigned tutor, but Gretchen was able to provide a very pleasant experience thus far.

My tutor Sina was extremely helpful in teaching me the basics of geometry to start off my year well prepared and helped me understand many concepts in Algebra 1 that I had trouble with last year. I would highly recommend him to any others looking for a tutor. He was also very understanding and friendly.

Colleen helped me through four different college papers for my final class for my bachelors degree. The class was a research and writing class. Her suggestions on content and organization of the of the papers allowed me to get an "A" on every one of them. I would recommend her for tutoring to anyone who needed help writing research papers in college.

Tiffany is very knowledgeable on the subject (Latin) as well as a great teacher. She is patient and works with my son until he understands and grasps the materials they are covering. She is prompt and kind and we enjoy having her in our home helping our son with his latin homework.

My 6th grader was having a lot of trouble with Math. In fact he hadn't passed a test since the start of the school year. He was passing the class, barely, by the grace of homework, classwork, and class participation. Then, to add insult to injury, he was diagnosed with some learning disabilities. Then along comes Edwin. AND.......my son just passed his first test with an 80. That's a B!!! We were all (still are) ECSTATIC!!!! I am so happy with Edwin. He's patient, soft-spoken, and did I mention PATIENT?! I love what he's doing for my son. Zach was actually very proud of himself. Now he knows he can do it, and thanks to Edwin, he will continue to excel.
