Fun Facts
I'm training for my first marathon in August. I have one younger sister and my family is based in Northern California (so I'm a long way from home)! I am a credited yoga teacher and I heavily endorse healthy eating and a healthy lifestyle. I am also planning to get a dog this August!
About Me
I am a 5th year senior at Emory University. I'm using my 5th year to complete my double major in Neuroscience and Creative Writing (poetry) and do an honors thesis focusing on PTSD in Atlanta's inner-city population. I was also a psychology major for my first two years of college and have complete all pre-med courses, so I have a strong background in science and scientific writing. I'd say I'm pretty well-rounded academically.
Experience
I am currently a physics atlanta">tutor for college students and Emory and have tutored English in the past. I also correct and edit essays and personal statements for many of my classmates as they apply to graduate school. Furthermore, I've taken over ten writing intensive courses in college and have something around a 3.9 gpa within my creative writing major. I also scored in the 93rd percentile for my analytical writing essays on the GRE.
Approach
I like to encourage students to use all the resources available to learn and understand a subject. Mostly, I apply and teach study skills that I've picked up and have worked for me during college. While I'm very involved in actively teaching my students, I like them to do their own work before I step in. I will never re-write a person's essay, rather I encourage them discuss their topics and ideas and the points they are trying to get across.
