Algebra Tutoring

I took algebra back in seventh grade and I have built upon my early foundations in this subject through my high school mathematics experiences. I have also built upon this foundation outside the classroom in my participation in the mathematics team and the various competitions I have been awarded in for my individual and group efforts. I received an A in my algebra class as well and I have mentored children and siblings who need help in this area.

Algebra II Tutoring

I took this course as a freshman in high school at the honors level. I attained an A plus in the course which means I had at least a 98 average in the class.

AP Chemistry Tutoring

I took this class as a Junior in high school and passed the advanced placement exam. I received an award for receiving the highest average in the class in the school with a solid A average in the course. I also scored a 720 on the chemistry subject test at the end of my Junior year. I took another chemistry course as a Freshman at the honors level and attained an award for the highest average in the class despite being the only freshman taking this course.

AP English Tutoring

I took AP language and composition; as well as, AP Literature and Composition. I received an A average in both of the classes. I scored a 5 on the AP Language and Composition exam and I have not received my score on the AP Literature and Composition exam yet. I read a wide variety of book during the time period I took these courses and in the honors english courses I took my ninth and tenth grade years respectively. I also received the award for highest average in the school in my ninth grade honors english course.

AP History Tutoring

I successfully completed AP European History and AP U.S. History in my sophomore and Junior years of high school respectively. I scored a 5 on the national Advanced placement examination in both courses. I also received an award in both classes for receiving the highest average in the school in both courses. I received a Solid A in AP European History and an A plus in AP U.S. History. I scored a 790/800 on the U.S. history subject test. I also received the Woodman of the World award in this area for my work in the classroom and leadership outside of it. I also was awarded with the social studies departmental award for all my work in Social studies both inside the classroom and within the greater community as I managed to translate my love for social studies to the national level with my participation in the U.S. senate youth leadership program, my heavy involvement in student government as the school president and class president my Freshman and Junior years, and my various leadership positions in NC YMCA youth and Government as well as my active civic participation and leadership. I also received the highest average in every social studies class I took in high school from Honors civics and economics, AP European history, AP U.S. history, and AP U.S. Government and Politics which shows my strength in the history and social studies area.

AP Physics Tutoring

I took AP Physics 1 as a senior and received an A average in the class. I have vast experience not only in the physics material but also in completing laboratories. I took the national AP exam and I haven't received my score yet.

AP Statistics Tutoring

I took this course as a Senior in high school and received an A average. I also received an award for attaining the highest average in the school in this class. I took the national AP exam in this course and I have not yet received my exam score.

Biology AP Tutoring

I took this class as a sophomore and was the only sophomore in the school to take part in this class. I received an A average in this course and received a 4 on the first version of the newly reformed examination. I also took the subject test in this course and received a 710 on the exam. I also took an honors biology course in 8th grade and received an A in the course.

Calculus AP Tutoring

I took AP Calculus AB as a junior and received an A in the course. I also received an award for receiving the highest average in this course in the school. I also scored a 5 on the national AP examination.

Homework Coach Tutoring

I am very qualified to serve as a homework coach. I personally don't have just one particular way of studying material or doing homework so I would be a very flexible individual that could help students realize their personal most effective manner of completing homework. I also personally enjoy completing homework and I have never had a late or missed homework assignment so I feel like I would be a great motivator and could explain the importance of doing homework.

Pre Calculus Tutoring

I completed an honors Pre Calculus course my sophomore year in high school. I received an A in the course and took the SAT Subject test in math one and received a 710. I also received a great deal of knowledge in the area of trigonometry from my completion of this course. I follow this by successfully completing an advanced placement course in calculus.

Reading Comprehension Tutoring

I have completed two honors english and two advanced placement english courses in high school. I have scored a 700 on the SAT verbal section and I scored a 35 on the ACT reading comprehension section. So I possess many different skills that I can impart in perspective students to help them excel on standardized tests. I also have read a wide variety of fiction and nonfiction novels that are on many different reading levels.

SAT Verbal/Writing Tutoring

I received a 700 on the SAT verbal section and a 740 on the SAT writing section. I also received a 35 and 34 respectively on the reading and writing sections of the ACT. I also scored an 11/12 on the ACT and SAT essay portions.

Spanish I Tutoring

I took spanish one as a Freshman and received an A in the course. I also received an award for receiving the highest average in the school in this class.

Spanish II Tutoring

I took spanish two as a sophomore in high school and received an A average in the course. I gained skills in reading, writing, and speaking skills in Spanish.

Spanish III Tutoring

I took an honors spanish three course as a junior in high school. I received an A minus in the course overall and had a lot of practice in the reading, writing and speaking of spanish. I also followed this course with an online Spanish course on the next level and received an A in this course.

Study Skills Tutoring

I believe I can assist students who have various styles of learning. I myself am very flexible in the ways that I study so I would be able to not only adjust my teaching to how the student learns but also help a student find out what their must effective way of learning is.

English Tutoring

I completed English in middle school on an advanced AIG track all three years. I attained the highest average in the class all three years of middle school and scored in the top quartile on the state exam each year. I also received an award in eight grade for exemplary accomplishment in the class.

Math Tutoring

I completed mathematics with Straight A's in middle school. This record was achieved with completing honors algebra and honors geometry in a high school setting. I also have had great fundamental reinforcement from work done at Kumon.

Science Tutoring

I completed my middle school science curriculum with straight A's and was awarded for exemplary accomplishments in my classes. In my eighth grade year I completed both eight grade science and honors biology at the local high school. I scored in the 98th percentile on the statewide biology exam.

Elementary Math Tutoring

I have maintained my elementary level math skills through the work and problem sets I have worked through in the Kumon program. I could also provide a new perspective that isn't as far removed as the perspectives other tutors would bring.

ACT English Tutoring

I took the ACT English and scored a 34 on the multiple choice section. I also scored a 10/12 on the essays. I also have extensive english review from two advanced placement and two honors english courses.

ACT Reading Tutoring

I scored a 35 on the ACT reading section. I also have taken two advanced placement and two honors English courses and attained an A average in all of the courses.

PSAT Tutoring

I scored a 209 on the 2013 PSAT test. I scored in the 98th percentile compared to other high school juniors taking this exam. I was awarded the national achievement scholarship for my efforts and a national merit commended distinction. I scored a 73 on the math section, a 70 on the writing section and a 66 on the reading section. I then went on to score a 2120 on the actual SAT.
