Conquering the new SAT

The SAT is a very important exam. It sets the standard for which colleges will be within reach when you are applying for college. Getting a good score on the SAT will not only help in the selection of colleges that are available to you but a good score will also open you up to scholarship and other scholastic benefits as well. All of that being said, this is not to add any extra pressure onto an already stressful situation but that actually brings me to a major point. The major key to conquering the SAT is not allowing it to overwhelm you. Once you have your nerves under control, everything else will fall into place. Next, I'll give some tips about the actual SAT examination. The first thing you should do is purchase an SAT prep test book. A good one i can recommend is the "Collegeboard Official SAT Study Guide". Who better to tell you about the SAT than the makers of the test? The next thing I can recommend is to have an SAT practice schedule. One major problem with buying the SAT prep booklets is that you've spent all the money on the test preparations, but you never crack them open! The third recommendation I can give is to get into an SAT Prep group, whether it be at your school or with your friends. Each person is bound to be good at a certain section whether it be the English or Mathematics sections. You can always devise tips amongst each other for getting through the sections. I hope this was a great help and I wish you the best of luck on your examinations!
