Fun Facts

A fun fact about me is that I love to rollerskate! I am just a beginner, but I have loved it so far. I hope that over the next couple of months I continue to improve. I also have a bunny, his name is Arthur and he is 5 months old. He's silly and is constantly getting himself into trouble.

About Me

I have my undergrad from UC Boulder in Sociology, and my Masters degree in Social Work (MSW) from CSU San Marcos. My ultimate goal is to be a Child and Family Therapist working within the court system.

Experience

Throughout college, I volunteered with the "I Have a Dream Foundation" where I tutored students K-6 in English, Math, and Reading. This also included homework help and any additional assistance that they needed. In my previous job(s), I have been a Behavior Interventionist, where I worked with children and younger adults in changing their behaviors and teaching them life skills. During graduate school, I have worked in two different school settings with children aged 7-19.

Approach

I have worked with students with a variety of backgrounds. I realize that school is harder for some and easier for others. I come from a very understanding yet assertive place when I am helping students. I believe in self-determination. I am here to help, but THEY are the ones that hold the power to SUCCEED! I'm here to help, but they have to put in the work. I view tutoring as a team effort- I'm always cheering for my student to win.
