Fun Facts
I am a writer and bibliophile who has traveled around the world and the United States many times. I studied a semester in New Zealand, taught English in Tokyo for a year, traveled around the world from India to Ireland over the course of seven months, and have gone on two and three month camping voyages across the United States. I love creativity, wisdom, knowledge, and improvisation!
About Me
I graduated from Cornell University in 2006, having majored in government while taking an assortment of humanities and social science courses, especially writing. I have spent most of my 20’s working in different fields to gain knowledge of the world while also having varied experiences in pursuit of wisdom. I read A LOT and write A LOT! Currently I also teach part-time ESL in the Bronx. I have learned much from my travels about patience and communication.
I began teaching conversational English in Tokyo, Japan in early 2011, and have continued teaching this language in one form or another ever since.
My experience as a teacher has taught me that students learn best when they are in a comfortable, enthusiastic atmosphere that provides confident instruction, creativity, and patience. I love to improvise based on my students' experience. I learn about the student and then try to tailor the lesson to the individual so that they can better relate the material to the world as they know it. Ultimately, I hope to improve their ability to succeed in and enjoy this world by helping them with the subject.
