About Me
I am an Arizona State Senior, headed to medical school next fall (UCSD School of Medicine). Before deciding on medicine I spent two years in Pharmacy School in Boston, Massachusetts. I currently work in a neurpsychopharmacology lab studying the effects of neurogenesis on addiction. I coach a middle school basketball team for Children First Academy and also work as a Compounding Specialist at Scottsdale Healthcare.
I have tutored from 6th grade to college seniors and am comfortable with all areas of science and math. I scored in the top 96% on the MCAT in Both Biological and Physical Science. In Boston, I led class reviews for Organic Chemistry, Biochemistry, and Pharmaceutics. I tutored secondary school children for two years, at Saguaro High School as well as Children First Academy-Phoenix.
Like all good phoenix">tutors, I promote a conceptual understanding of the material, rather than rote memorization. I try to teach students effective problem solving skills as well as procedural rules that will help prevent mistakes. I am very broad minded and am able to related most science and math topics to personal topics that will help the student understand the material better.
