Mathematics is also a hobby. I like to read and practice math problems from higher-level math books. Among my favorite math subjects are real analysis and mathematical logic.
I enjoy taking trips to the coast. My favorite destination is Monterey, CA. I reside 158 miles from Monterey. Every 2 months, I go to Monterey to enjoy cooler weather and take a seaside stroll.
I enjoy listening to music. I have an extensive music collection.
Little Richard is the king of rock and roll, and that is that!

About Me

I have three college degrees:
BS Physics- San Diego State University
MS Applied Mathematics- San Diego State University
MA Education Curriculum and Instruction- California State University, Fresno.

I am presently studying for an actuary exam (probability part).

Experience

15 years teaching at the community college level. I have taught all levels of mathematics from basic arithmetic to Calculus III and also statistics.
4 years full-time high school teaching experience. I have taught integrated math, AP Calculus, AP Statistics, business math, and physics.
I have also tutored mathematics during my teaching career. I enjoy working with a student (or students) to assist in the student's success.

Approach

I wish to seek the goals of the student. I wish to emphasize to the student that mathematics IS relevant. I wish to point out to the student that mathematics is a language and should therefore be practiced daily. Mathematics is not a spectator sport. Each tutoring session will be organized and structured so that by the end of the session, the student will realize what was accomplished.
