Fun Facts
In my spare time, I enjoy sleeping, weightlifting, spending time with his family as well as cooking various Indian/Pakistani cuisines. After a torn ACL recovery, I have recently made an epic return to the basketball court, obliterating “competition" near and yonder with my unstoppable 3-point jumper! :)
About Me
Throughout my graduate studies, I have had the pleasure of being able to engage my interests in teaching and research, which are both integral components of my selected career as an independent academic researcher at a Primarily Undergraduate Institution (PUI). As a professor, I aspire to not only make advances in the fields of research and academics, but to also make opportunities available for others to yield an all-inclusive field of study!
Experience
At the university level, I have served as a workshop leader for first- and second-semester organic chemistry, a lead teaching assistant for “Chemistry of Poisons,” and have also taken advantage of opportunities to guest lecture graduate (G) and undergraduate courses (UG): (1) Chemical Concepts, Systems and Practices (UG), (2) First-Year Organic Chemistry (UG), and (3) Interface of Chemistry and Biology (G).
Approach
My careful observations of the teaching styles, methods, and philosophies that I have experienced throughout my education provide a valuable collection of effective teaching techniques from which I draw. The distillation of those varied approaches leads me to adhere to a principle of prioritizing student engagement through interaction, instruction and application as I believe that to be the most beneficial to the student both in and beyond the course.
