About Me
I am currently a student at the University of New Mexico (UNM) I will graduate this May. I am majoring in Spanish and my GPA for Spanish is a 4.0. My overall GPA is 3.8. My plans after college are to attend graduate school here at the University of New Mexico and obtain a Masters in Hispanic Linguistics. My career goal is to teach Spanish at the high school I graduated from in Santa Fe, NM. While attending UNM, I received an invitation to be part of the Golden Key International Honour Society for having a high GPA.
I have albuquerque">tutoring experience when I worked as a albuquerque">tutor in the Santa Fe Public Schools via ENLACE and AVID. I was known as an AVID/ENLACE albuquerque">Tutor and I would albuquerque">tutor middle school and high school students in all subject areas. I also tutored English as a Second Language (ESL) students in all subjects areas. I also tutored in an after school program where students would take the work they missed due to an absence or because they had to redo it.
My albuquerque">tutoring approach is more as a facilitator. A albuquerque">tutor is not a teacher therefore they do not teach the material to students. A albuquerque">tutor is there to guide a student, to facilitate, the work. While the albuquerque">tutor does know the material they cannot just tell it to the student. The albuquerque">tutor has to find ways in how to facilitate and show the student how a math problem is done in various ways for them to comprehend the steps and be able to solve the problems. The same is done with each subject area; different approaches are taken to help the student understand on how to do their homework.
