Fun Facts

I am from Jamaica. I was once the captain of a netball team. You might be wondering what is netball? The best way to describe it, is that it is similar to basketball with a lot of difference. When we meet I will tell you all about it. Although not well know in the US, it is played by 20 million people in more than 80 countries.

About Me

I am a 7th Grade math teacher. I have a Bachelor Degree in Psychology and a Master Degree in Business. My ultimate goal is to teacher at the college level.

Experience

I was a tutor for over five years tutoring pre-algebra up to college algebra. I was also a Supplemental Instructional (SI) Leader. As a SI Leader, I facilitated students learning to help them learn and apply the content of the lessons. Now as a teacher I also provide after school tutor both in person as well as online. I am looking forward to continue teaching and tutoring to impact the lives I am in contact with.

Approach

As a child, education was not the number one goal for my family and I struggle in school. However, I had a teacher who took a great interest in me when she noticed my potential. She would challenge me and gave me additional work to improve my learning. I will use my experiences as a SI Leader, tutor, and teacher with the care and concern that my teacher showed me, to ensure you learn and apply the concept of each area for your success.
